Hello, I'm Tara Hansen, and I'm thrilled to share my passion for sustainable, locally sourced garden produce with you. Growing up in Carey, Idaho, I was instilled with a love for the land and the bountiful treasures it holds. After spending several years away, I returned to my roots in Carey in 2019, where I live with my husband, and three of our seven children. We also have five grandchildren.
In addition to my dedication to Tara's Market & Garden, I am a volunteer EMT for Carey Fire, where I lend a hand to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. I also devote a few days each month to assisting BC South Fire on the Ambulance in Bellevue and Hailey, where I find fulfillment in helping others during crucial moments.
My involvement extends to the realm of youth development as well, as I volunteer as a 4-H leader for the market goat group called K.I.D.S. – an acronym representing "keep inventing, dreaming, and smiling." A fun fact: baby goats are called kids, which gives a delightful twist to our group's name and mission.
Horticulture has always been close to my heart. From a young age, I assisted my mother in the garden, nurturing a deep-rooted love for growing things that has blossomed into over 20 years of avid gardening. I also hold a master gardener certification, which reflects my commitment to excellence in all aspects of cultivating the earth's gifts.
At Tara's Market & Garden, I am proud to be part of a local community of like-minded growers, bakers, producers, and creators. Together, we unite our skills, talents, and the bounty of our labor to offer you the finest, freshest produce and goods. I am excited to share the results of our collective dedication with those around us.
